Question and Answer #1
Q1: “This requirement states a reference height and 12 inch over and under tolerance.
Is this stating that the stand must be adjustable through out a 24 inch height range ?
If so do you have a preference as to the method of setting the height ? I have applied air drives, mechanical drives and a lock and pin method that required assistance of a lift truck.”
A1: The stands must be adjustable throughout the required 24 inch range, but we have no required method for securing the stand at the height. As long as there is a mechanical lock method to secure the stand at the height to prevent the stand from moving once positioned at the desired height. The stands must be adjustable and able to be secured at the desired height with ease. The use of a lift truck to adjust the stand is not an easy method; one person should be able to adjust the height and secure it in place without external equipment assistance.
