SUBJECT: FA2823-10-R-0010, FTFA083904, Renovate Building 1306, Eglin AFB, FL, Questions & Answers: 18 May 2010

1. Is Advantor going to be utilized for the security system?

Answer: Advantor must be used for the IDS purchase and installation. Contact information can be found at WWW.ADVANTOR.COM

2. Is there Asbestos or lead based paint? Who is responsible for the abatement?

Answer: Some abatement is required, please see Drawing ASB1 and Appendix A of the specifications.

3. Are the empty conduits in the back right corner of the mechanical room noted in any as-builts?

Answer: The conduits could not be found on any of the as-built drawings.

4. Is there an emergency generator?

Answer: There is no emergency generator; therefore, the batteries are required to provide power to the IDS during a power outage.

5. Will sound transmission be an issue for the mechanical room?

Answer: Sound attenuation should be applied to the two inside walls in the mechanical room. Those two walls are part of the overall controlled building that will be alarmed. The two outside walls in the mechanical room do not require sound attenuation.

6. Carpet Tiles come in 3 different styles from Crayons: GLP1366/GLP6558/GLP4173.

Answer: Tandus, Crayon Series: size 24"x24", Color 48010 Precious Metal only comes in one pattern, GLP numbers do not relate to this product.

7. Ceramic conflicts from Floor: Mat. (CT) & Color (ETR) in rooms 106/109/112/116 Answer: The floor tile in Corridor 106, Entry 109, Corridor 110, Entry 112, and Entry 116 is existing to remain. The only new flooring is at the doorway in Corridor 106, see floor finish plan, Drawing ID2.

8. VCT conflicts from Floor: Mat (VCT) & Color (ETR) in room 111 Answer: Revised Drawing ID1 dated 6 May 2010 has been corrected to show appropriate finishes (See Amendment 0001)

9. Base conflicts from Mat (CT) & color (ETR) in room 111 Answer: Revised Drawing ID1 dated 6 May 2010 has been corrected to show appropriate finishes. (See Amendment 0001)

10. Finish & Color Schedule calls for 4" height & Finish Key calls for 6". Please advise.

Answer: Revised Drawing ID1 dated 6 May 2010 changes finish legend to specify 4" base rather than 6". (See Amendment 0001)

11. Finish Schedule calls for rooms 105/106/107/108/109/110/112/113/114/115/116/117/118/119/ 120/121 to have color R1, do I assume it is the same as RB-1?

Answer: Yes, Revised Drawing ID1 dated 6 May 2010 has been corrected to read color RB-1. (See Amendment 0001)

12. Drawing ASB1 indicates asbestos to be removed in the floors for the Men's room 104 and Women's room 106, but the finish schedule indicates existing floor to remain, with no new floor finish indicated. Please advise.

Answer: ASB1 indicates materials existence. This is not an abatement project, remove asbestos only where impacted. Asbestos under the existing flooring to remain will not be impacted.

13. Drawing A1, the room numbers do not match the room numbers on the finish schedule ID1.

Answer: Correct, the finish schedule matches drawing A2, the new floor plan configuration.

14. Are we to turn over the existing chalk & tack boards shown in rooms 107, 108 and 109, to the owner, or are they trash?

Answer: They are to be turned over to the government.

15. On page A-2, the Construction Keynotes (#2) says to provide new 5/8" GWB where wood paneling was removed. The Legend shows a dashed line saying to provide new 5/8" GWB on 2-1/2" 22 ga. studs. The dashed line occurs in most of the rooms but #2 shows up in rooms 101, 102, and 107 also. In these 3 rooms, is there a difference in what we attach the GWB to?

Answer: We will delete notation #2 on sheet A-2 in the Construction Keynotes. Please refer to the dashed lines as shown in the Legend for the walls to be furred out. Drawing A2 will be corrected prior to resulting contract.

16. In the rooms that get the "furring" and drywall, how high do we have to run the studs and drywall? Do we stop the wall above ceiling height?

Answer: Please see sheet A-3 detail #2. The framing is to go all the way up to underside of concrete roof deck.
