About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for a solicitation for 130 dormitory mattresses at Patrick Space Force Base. The requirement involves procurement, delivery, and installation of new mattresses at two dormitory buildings (Buildings 505 and 506), with removal and off-base disposal of 130 existing mattresses in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Installation must occur between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. to accommodate residents' work schedules, with approximately 95% occupancy expected during the installation period. Building 506 offers access from multiple sides with direct trailer parking capability in the parking lot, while Building 505 has access only from the east side due to its location between two other buildings. The buildings contain no elevators, only three sets of stairs (east, west, and middle).
The mattresses must comply with salient characteristics specifications including a brand-name or equivalent foam encasement and a 1000 Series coil unit spring system. Contractors must provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and management necessary for delivery and installation. Contractor personnel are required to comply with Patrick Space Force Base access requirements, including presenting REAL ID-compliant identification and maintaining valid driver's licenses and current vehicle insurance. Staging is permitted only during actual installation and removal in the parking lot, with no overnight storage available. All quotes must be submitted in PDF or Word format with detailed information demonstrating technical capability, product characteristics, installation services, and estimated completion time. No third-party test reports or certifications beyond federal mattress flammability requirements are required, and no disposal receipts or manifests are needed for the removed mattresses.
