27 Mar 19 Q&A’s For Firing Range Maintenance (Combined Synopsis FA252119QB009)

Q: Who is responsible for disposing of the HEPA pre-filters and metal air filters?

A: Patrick AFB has a separate contractor who disposes of base HAZWASTE.

Q: Are there any other types of filters were responsible for?

A: The Dust Cleaning Unit also has HEPA-Filters which will need changed in three more years. The separate CLIN can be utilized to purchase them when it is time.

Q: How many 55 gallon drums and lids are we required to provide per quarter?

A: It varies based on debris and range use. If you are asking for average quarterly, 2 – Range debris, 2 – Bullet/Munitions Dust (back of range) and depending on how the contractor plans to mop the range: 1 – 30 Gal clear plastic barrel for HW liquid. (REMINDER: EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE PREPED FOR HAZWASTE DOT SHIPMENT) Q: Are there any other types of hazardous waste/materials we’re responsible for moving or transporting?

A: Patrick AFB has a separate contractor who picks up/disposes of base HAZWASTE. Any materials the contactor needs to accomplish the Statement of Work (SoW) is responsible for bringing or shipping.

Q: What is the width of the firing range?

A: Measured from wall to wall is 80 feet.

Q: How many HEPA filters are required for the air filtration units at the back of the building? Thank you for your service and have a great day!

A: Annual changing of HEPA filters (estimate should include cost for metal filters 40 each annually 24” x 24” x 12”) Q: Is there a warranty issue requiring the filters be purchased from the manufacturer or will another vendor be okay? There is a substantial price difference!

A: There is no warranty left on the system.
