About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract WT 17823986 concerning the repair of cooling towers. The document addresses six Requests for Information (RFIs) submitted by contractors following a site visit on April 15, 2026, at Building 1470.
The primary concerns raised by contractors relate to equipment identification and documentation. Contractors requested confirmation of serial numbers for two Marley Aquatower 58084 cooling towers (specifically serial number 58084.B24523M.3852.94 and Belt Size 2A120), clarification of exact model designations (58084-A, 58084-B, 58084-C, or equivalent sub-models) to ensure proper sourcing of parts such as bearing housing groups, fan shafts, sheaves, fan assemblies, and bushings, and photographs of equipment nameplates and the failed motor from Tower #1. Contractors also requested general photographs of both cooling towers, associated electrical and starter boxes, and the surrounding work area to confirm parts availability, lead times, and potential custom manufacturing requirements. All requests for photographic documentation and equipment details were addressed with a uniform response stating that pictures of the work site, including nameplate tags of the cooling towers, have been taken and will be sent to contractors. Regarding scope clarification, the document confirms that SOW paragraph 1.5.1 has been updated to include replacement of cooling tower media, nozzles, sealing of joints, and cleaning of basins as part of the required work.

WT 17823986, Repair Cooling Towers
RFIs from Site Visit 15 April 2026
1. We have a question regarding the serial numbers referenced in the SOW. Our supplier was unable to verify serial numbers 58084.B24523M.3852.94 and Belt Size 2A120 as valid for the Marley Aquatower 58084 model. Could you please confirm the correct serial numbers for both towers so that we can ensure our pricing and scope of work are accurate?
Response: Pictures have been taken of work site including the nameplate tags of the cooling towers and they will be sent out to contractors.
2. I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to request photos of the two cooling tower tags. Unfortunately, the team that conducted the site visit was not allowed to use their phones, so they were unable to capture images of the equipment information.
Response: Pictures have been taken of work site including the nameplate tags of the cooling towers and they will be sent out to contractors.
3. Please confirm the exact model designation of the two Marley Aquatower 58084 cooling towers installed at Building 1470 (for example 58084-A, 58084-B, 58084-C, or equivalent sub-model). Bearing housing groups, fan shafts, sheaves, fan assemblies, and bushings vary between sub-models, and the correct designation is required to source the proper parts.
Response: Pictures have been taken of work site including the nameplate tags of the cooling towers and they will be sent out to contractors.
4. Please provide the model number, or a clear photograph of the nameplate/data tag, of the failed motor from Tower #1 that is currently laying on the roof.
Response: Pictures have been taken of work site including the nameplate tags of the cooling towers and they will be sent out to contractors.
5. Please provide general photographs of the two cooling towers, the associated electrical and starter boxes, and the surrounding work area on the roof of Building 1470. This information is required to allow our team to confirm parts availability, lead times, and whether any components will require custom manufacturing. A timely response will help ensure our proposal is complete and accurate by the solicitation closing date.
Response: Pictures have been taken of work site including the nameplate tags of the cooling towers and they will be sent out to contractors.
6. Are the cooling tower media and the nozzles part of the scope?
Response: SOW, para 1.5.1 has been updated to include replacement of cooling tower media, nozzles, sealing of joints and cleaning of basins.
