EAFB-002 TITLE: Digital Bin Labels

TECHNOLOGY AREA(S): Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL)

ACQUISITION PROGRAM: 96 Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS) Digital Bin Labels

OBJECTIVE: The 96th Logistics Readiness Squadron needs a system that assists in the modernization of Eglin Air Force Base’s warehouse inventory by providing location data on various assets stored in the warehouse.

96 LRS is pursuing a solution that the submittal firm substantiates a present ability to:

1. Provide real time asset location updates within system

2. Tag/label at least 10,000 items

3. Cover an area of 100,000 square feet

4. Provide multi-year battery life

5. Allow for rapid repair/serviceability

6. Integrate system with external software/databases

7. Provide factory included warranty

8. Provide phone support for minimum of 1 year

Personnel spend eight hours or more (daily) placing equipment into locations, or moving equipment to different locations within the warehouse. The existing system requires personnel to utilize paper and magnet strips to update warehouse locations. The paper locations ensure that personnel are tracking where equipment is located. This process takes on average 4K (+) hours per year to fully inventory and track the equipment in the warehouse.
