Robotic Paint Booth
Site Visit held 03 Apr 2018
1. Question: Are all parts considered flat?
Answer: No, a few are curved. Examples will be provided.
2. Question: Is pulling the part out of the room and rotating to paint the other side acceptable?
Answer: Yes, but not having to would be considered an enhancement.
3. Question: How many racks at a time in the room?
Answer: There can be multiple parts per rack. There most likely will not be room to place more than one rack at a time.
4. Question: Where is the controller?
Answer: The controller is not in a hazardous area. The pendant must reach into the booth.
5. Question: Where should the CDS be located?
Answer: The Coating Delivery System (CDS) should be located in the mixing room or between, just not in the paint booth. Action item: Need layout of CDS.
6. Question: What is the maximum part size which includes length, width, and height?
Answer:Action item: Government will provide maximum part size.
7. Question: What is the layout of the room?
Answer: The Government will provide pictures in PD.
8. Question: Are CAD model or offline programming needed for this application?
Answer: No, not at the current time but tomorrow the situation could change. It would be an enhancement to provide this.
9. Question: What is the payload and why?
Answer: Payload is specified in Sections 3.1(C)(i), 3.2(C)(i) and 3.3(C)(i)of the PD. The payload is equal to or greater than 40 Kg to allow for flexibility.
10. Question: Is iR Vision a firm requirement?
Answer: PD paragraphs 3.1 (C)(v), 3.2 (C)(v), and 3.3 (C)(v) states that the requirement is that iR Vision must be loaded but it is not standard with the Robot.
Robot option must have iR vision and must tell the robot manufacturer to load that option.
11. Question: In paragraphs 3.1(F)(iv)(2), 3.2(F)(iv)(2), and 3.3(F)(iv)(2) of the PD, in reference to Graphic operation, what do the graphics need to look like?
Answer: Needs to be Isometric view. Government needs to ensure this is stated in the PD.
12. Question: Is there a turntable?
Answer: No
13. Question: What is the period of performance?
Answer: 18 month POP. Installation shall take place within 15 months and 3 months of training to follow after award
14. Question: Are there any traceability requirements?
Answer: No, but the Government needs to be able to recreate the event of what is happening. (Same subject as data recording) Data recording and key logging will be utilized for troubleshooting.
15. Question: Will alternate proposals be allowed?
Answer: All contractors must propose to the Government’s requirement.
16. Question: Will a simulation be a part of the proposal package?
Answer: Yes the simulation will determine if reach was considered.
17. Question: Are all parts rectangular or various shapes?
Answer: The parts are in various shapes. The Government will include pictures of various parts.
