About this file

This document is a sample Irrevocable Standby Letter of Credit template for the Defense Logistics Agency Energy (DLA Energy). The letter of credit is designed to be issued by a bank in favor of the DLA Energy's Pacific and Middle East Bulk Fuels Contracting Officer, located at Fort Belvoir, VA. The template provides two specific scenarios under which the government can draw funds: (1) when a contractor fails to pay for delivered products, or (2) when a contractor fails to take delivery of contracted products.

The letter of credit is subject to the Uniform Customs and Practice of Documentary Credits and the Uniform Commercial Code. It allows the government to make multiple drafts against the letter of credit, with drafts to be presented at the issuing bank by a specified expiration date. The document includes placeholders for key details such as the effective date, letter of credit amount, contractor name, contract number, and letter of credit number, indicating it is a flexible template for use in future specific contract scenarios.
