About this file
This file is an exhibit containing technical diagrams for upright headstone realignment procedures in burial sections.
Figure 2 presents a plan view diagram illustrating the realignment methodology for a burial section. The diagram depicts the use of keystones positioned at cardinal points to establish a realignment grid system. An initial keystone serves as the reference point, with subsequent keystones placed to create string lines that align both transverse and longitudinal directions. The diagram indicates that intermediate headstones are set after keystones are established, with rows positioned to be parallel to one another and columns aligned parallel as well. The diagram also notes that in sloping terrain, additional keystones may be required to provide smooth transitions between elevation changes.
Figure 3 provides elevation view diagrams showing typical vertical alignment procedures for both flat and sloped burial sections. The flat section diagram illustrates headstone positioning relative to existing undisturbed top soil surface and original headstone locations, with realigned headstones shown on a solid reference line. The sloped section diagram depicts a projected vertical alignment relative to average top soil level using an imaginary string line, demonstrating how headstones are repositioned in terrain with grade changes. Both elevation views show the relationship between keystones, realigned headstone positions, and original headstone locations to guide the realignment work process.
