About this file
This is an insurance requirements document for Volusia County, Florida's Ocean Center Parking Garage Elevator Modernization project. The project involves the modernization of five elevators at the Ocean Center parking garage and pedestrian bridge to meet current code requirements. The awarded contractor must furnish all labor and materials necessary to complete the work, including preventative maintenance, service, testing, and part replacement for a 12-month warranty period following final acceptance. The contractor is responsible for the complete modernization in accordance with the Portfolio Master Elevator Service Agreement.
The insurance requirements mandate comprehensive coverage across multiple categories. Contractors must maintain workers compensation with waiver of subrogation under Florida statutory coverage, commercial general liability with limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 general aggregate, auto liability with a combined single limit of $1,000,000, excess liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence and aggregate, an installation floater for all-risk coverage at project value, and professional liability at $1,000,000 per claim and aggregate. All policies must name Volusia County as an additional insured with primary and non-contributory status, include waivers of subrogation, and provide 30 days written notice of cancellation to the Certificate Holder at the Volusia County Purchasing & Contracts Division in DeLand, Florida. Architects or engineers serving as independent contractors must provide their own professional liability certificates of insurance with the bid response.
