PROJECT TITLE: WHL KITCHEN GREASE TRAP REPLACEMENT
COUNTY THAT WORK WILL BE COMPLETED IN: DuPage☒ Kane☐ Fermilab County Line
INTRODUCTION
This project aims to enhance wastewater management in the Wilson Hall kitchen by replacing the existing grease traps with two (2) new pump-out grease interceptors. Wilson Hall is a high-rise building situated on the grounds of Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) in Batavia, Illinois. The Fermilab site encompasses 6,800 acres and is owned by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), with operations overseen by the Fermi Forward Discovery Group
(FFDG).
The subcontractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform the work as described in the drawings, technical specifications and the scope of work below. SCOPE OF WORK
The Subcontractor shall provide all work as shown on the drawings and technical specifications to provide two (2) new pump out grease interceptors, to include (but not limited to) the following:
1. Procure necessary materials and verify with FFDG personnel that they meet the specifications outlined.
2. Conduct a pre-installation assessment to confirm sizing, location, and existing plumbing connections.
3. Ensure that the work site is set up to minimize contamination to other areas of the kitchen. Use tarps, tenting, etc. as necessary to achieve this.

5. Dispose of concrete debris in dumpsters provided by FFDG.
6. Disconnect, remove, and properly dispose of existing grease traps in compliance with environmental regulations.
7. Furnish and install new pump-out interceptors sized appropriately to meet current code requirements and kitchen capacity, as indicated on the drawings.
8. Coordinate installation to minimize kitchen downtime, including after-hours work if required.
9. Perform start-up, leak testing, and operational verification of installed interceptors.
10. Replace concrete, as necessary once installation of interceptors is complete, as shown on the drawings to include:
a. Top cover of new interceptor should be flush with finished floor.
b. All exposed edges of finished concrete shall have a ¾” champer.
c. Replaced concrete shall be finished to match the surrounding floor.
11. Provide overview of new equipment to FFDG personnel on the proper operation and function of the interceptors.
