About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the replacement of a cathodic protection groundbed and rectifier system at facility MIPV 01-02, managed by the Infrastructure Services Division.
The contractor is responsible for designing and installing a complete cathodic protection system replacement. Key tasks include: obtaining facility badging and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) clearance; demolishing and removing the existing rectifier for onsite disposal; installing a new rectifier at the original location; drilling six anode holes to 15 feet deep approximately 6 feet from the structure; installing Anotec 2660Z cast iron anodes with RS-3 coke breeze into each hole; trenching approximately 3 feet deep from each anode hole to the rectifier; routing individual anode leads back to the rectifier and terminating them on designated shunts; backfilling trenches with burial ribbon installed 12 inches below grade; restoring the site to its previous condition; commissioning and verifying proper operation of the cathodic protection system; and recording and reporting all readings to the Fermi project manager. The contractor must also provide finalized as-built drawings upon project completion. FFDG supplies access to water for hydrovac operations, right-of-way and environmental approvals, onsite disposal of hydrovac spoils and the old rectifier, all permitting requirements, and existing cathodic protection records. The contractor must provide LOTO and NFPA 70E training, while FFDG requires the contractor to complete Subcontractor Orientation and GERT training.

Text version
• Replace existing rectifier with new and install new groundbed
• Design a replacement Cathodic Protection system
• Obtain facility badging for crew
• Mobilize to project location; layout and mark proposed newly designed groundbed
• Obtain LOTO for the existing rectifier
• Demo and remove existing rectifier; Rectifier to be properly disposed of onsite
• Provide and install new rectifier at the original location of old rectifier
• Attempt to drill (6) anode holes, 15’ deep at the locations indicated on the design drawing around MIPV01-02 approximately 6’ off the structure
• Pour (1) bag of RS-3 coke breeze into each hole prior to installing anodes
• Install one Anotec 2660Z cast iron anode and approximately 12’ of RS-3 coke breeze into each hole
• Trench from each anode hole location to the rectifier approximately 3’ deep
• Loose gravel to be pushed to the side prior to trenching to be saved and reused
• Hydrovac to be used when required due to site conditions; Spoils to be dumped onsite at designated area
• Route individual anode leads back to the rectifier through the trench
• Terminate leads on corresponding designated shunts in rectifier
• Backfill and tamp all trenches; Install burial ribbon in trenches approximately 12” below grade
• Spread previously moved gravel evenly around the two pump vaults
• Restore the site to previous condition; Remediate with additional gravel as necessary
• Remove LOTO and energize the rectifier
• Verify proper operation of the Cathodic Protection system and commission the Cathodic Protection system
• Set rectifier to the desired output
• Record and report all readings to Fermi project manager
• Provide a set of as-built drawings at the conclusion of the project
