About this file

This is a Confidentiality Agreement exhibit for the Orange County Probation Department in California related to an educational services contract opportunity. The document establishes policies and procedures governing the handling of Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) by employees who access such records during the course of their duties. The agreement requires all employees to protect the confidentiality of CORI obtained from case files and related sources, restricting disclosure to individuals with a legitimate right-to-know or need-to-know basis as determined by the Probation Department. The document prohibits using CORI for unauthorized contact with probationers or their relatives and forbids making CORI available to individuals without proper authorization.

Employees are required to sign and acknowledge understanding of the Probation Department's confidentiality policy prior to employment. Violations of the confidentiality policy are considered breaches subject to disciplinary action and potential criminal prosecution under Section 11142 of the California Penal Code. The signed confidentiality acknowledgment must be forwarded to the Probation Juvenile Court Services Assistant Division Director within five business days of the employee's start date. This exhibit serves as a mandatory compliance document for personnel involved in the educational services contract with the Orange County Probation Department.
