Exhibit 14: Additional Camping Provisions
Camping on National System Lands is subject to full compliance with the following provisions:
1. Human Waste Disposal: Human waste disposal shall not occur within a minimum of 100 feet from any live stream. In general, use of the ground surface to deposit human waste in camp situations will not be allowed. Waste management guidelines appropriate for the camping locations will be specified in the individual Task Order and discussed at the Pre-work conference. Depending on the location of the worksite described in each Task Order, different waste management guidelines may be required especially in special protection areas. Additional guidelines may also apply from Exhibit15_R1FoodStorageOrdersOccupancyUseRestrictions depending on the National Forest(s) where the project work is located.
2. Refuse including waste materials, garbage and rubbish of all kinds, shall be collected and stored in covered containers and hauled in a covered condition to existing State approved sanitary landfills. No material, whether combustible or noncombustible will be buried. Refuse disposal and food will be stored to minimize human/animal conflicts.
3. Storage facilities for materials capable of causing water pollution, if accidentally discharged, shall be located so as to prevent any spillage into waters, or channels leading into water, that would result in substantial harm to fish and wildlife or to human water supplies. No waste or byproducts shall be discharged within 100 feet of any stream course. No waste or byproducts shall be discharged if it contains any substances in concentrations which will result in significant disturbance or harm to fish and wildlife or to human water supplies.
4. Each camp will be maintained in a neat and orderly fashion. Cans, papers, garbage, boxes, etc., will not be allowed to accumulate around the campsite. All human foods and prepared livestock and pet foods and human refuse will be made unavailable to wildlife through proper storage, handling and disposal.
5. The permittee shall protect scenic aesthetic values of the area and adjacent land as far as possible with the authorized use.
6. The permittee will take reasonable measures to prevent and discourage vandalism or disorderly conduct and when necessary, will call in the appropriate law-enforcement officer.
7. No animals or fowl, other than household pets, shall be kept upon the premises. All pets will be kept under control at all times and will not be allowed to harass wildlife.
8. The permittee shall restrict all parking to areas approved by the Forest Service
9. All butane, propane or other liquefied petroleum-gas equipment shall be installed and operated in accordance with the laws and regulations of the State.
10. Camping limit in one location on National Forest is 16 days. If camping more than 16 days a Camp Management Plan/ Use of Premises Permit shall be required, Section J Exhibit 13.
11. The permittee shall comply with all terms of the R1 Food Storage Orders, Occupancy and Use Restrictions on each National Forest as specified in Section J, Exhibit 15 and individual Task Orders.
