About this file
This is an Addendum #2 to an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by the Texas Facilities Commission (TFC) for the replacement of a dust collection system at the Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) woodshop in Austin, Texas. The addendum revises the proposal deadline from March 6, 2026, to March 12, 2026, at 3:00 PM Central Time, with all other aspects of IFB #0006613 remaining unchanged. The project requires complete replacement of the existing dust collection system, including demolition, disposal of materials, and installation of a new OSHA and NFPA fire code-compliant system. Key deliverables include a system with airflow velocities of 3,500-4,500 ft/min, spark detection and extinguishing capabilities, design documents, airflow calculations, compliance certifications, a detailed project timeline, minimum three project references from the past three years, and warranty documentation. Respondents must attend a mandatory pre-bid site visit on either February 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM or February 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM; bids from non-attending firms are subject to rejection. Written questions are due by February 19, 2026. Project work is scheduled to commence June 8, 2026, with mandatory completion by July 31, 2026, and liquidated damages of $100.00 per calendar day apply for late completion.
Bidders must submit lump-sum pricing that breaks down demolition, equipment, installation labor, and system selection option costs, with the option to direct exhaust either outside or inside (current method). A bid bond equal to 5% of the bid amount is required at submission, with successful bidders required to provide performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of contract value. Respondents must submit a HUB Subcontracting Plan through the TFC's B2G system and demonstrate compliance with Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts HUB rules. All contractor employees and subcontractors must undergo criminal background checks performed by the Texas Department of Public Safety using live scan fingerprinting services, with contractors responsible for all background check expenses, permits, and required insurance per TFC Standard Terms and Conditions. Evaluation criteria include compliance with specifications, total cost, vendor experience and references, proposed timeline, and warranty and support services. Bid submissions must be made via the Bonfire portal at https://tfcstate.bonfirehub.com/opportunities/217927 in PDF format with a maximum file size of 1000 MB per upload. The contact for procurement inquiries is Heather Goll at the TFC Procurement Department, phone 512-463-1874, email Heather.Goll@tfc.texas.gov.
