About this file
This is an Attachment 6 form from a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the State of Texas, specifically the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), establishing qualifications and experience requirements for a Malacologist position. The position requires completion of a standardized form documenting the candidate's education, work experience, current employment, and professional credentials related to freshwater mussel surveys and assessments. Candidates must demonstrate completion of at least six habitat assessments, presence/absence surveys, relocations, or similar actions for imperiled freshwater mussel species across three Texas River Basins within the past ten years, with all surveys conducted according to protocols established by NMFS, TPWD, USFWS, or other scientifically acceptable standard methods. The form requires submission of six individual project descriptions, each not exceeding 250 words, detailing specific client work, survey types, protocols used, project locations, and the candidate's defined roles and responsibilities.
The Malacologist must hold a current TPWD Scientific Permit as a minimum qualification, with preference given to candidates possessing both TPWD and USFWS Section 10(a)(1)(A) permits for state and federally listed freshwater mussels in Texas. All permit documentation must be included with project submissions and must list the relevant species covered and identify the submitted candidate as the permittee. Candidates must also provide comprehensive work experience documentation, including employer names, job titles, employment dates, approximate number and types of surveys performed, years of relevant experience, and any peer-reviewed publications, within a 500-word limit. No pricing information, contract term details, or award dates are specified in this attachment, as it functions solely as a qualifications and experience documentation form for the procurement process.
