About this file
This document is a Request for Proposal (RFP) 25-37 Pricing Attachment for a Pilot-Scale Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) system, issued by San Jacinto College. The solicitation seeks one (1) refurbished or new TFF system, specifically a Cytiva AKTA Ready Flux or compatible alternate manufactured no earlier than 2017. The comprehensive system requirement includes the TFF equipment with computer and preloaded software, a one-year initial warranty, training, delivery, and installation/calibration. Preferred models include Cytiva AKTA Ready Flux, Sartorius SartoFlow CS1000, Repligen KrosFlo RS 30, or equivalent systems.
The technical specifications are extensive, requiring a sanitary design system capable of handling 15L batch sizes with a minimum 1L working volume and 0.5 m2 membrane area. Key requirements include process temperature control (2-50°C), safety features, automated control capabilities, process data export functionality, and comprehensive training package that includes on-site familiarization, applications training, and health/safety briefings. The vendor must provide a minimum 24-month manufacturer's warranty, technical support details, future software upgrade commitments, parts availability information, and a lifetime management plan. Shipping is included with lift-gate delivery to the FOB destination, and the total cost is to be listed in the Line Items Tab - Line Item 1 in IonWave.

| Tangential flow filtration (TFF) system designed for concentration and diafiltration of suspended microparticulates, including cell suspensions. | ||
| The unit shall be a sanitary design, self-venting and fully drainable. | ||
| The unit shall include all components necessary for operation. As a minimum these will include feed vessel, pump, filter module, piping, instrumentation, and controls. | ||
| The unit shall have a compact flow path to enable high concentration factors to be achieved. | ||
| The unit shall be capable of handling a batch size of 15L in a single operation. | ||
| Minimum working volume of 1L with 0.5 m2 membrane area. | ||
| The unit shall also be capable of handling larger volumes, eg. during diafiltration, by drawing fluid into the feed vessel. | ||
| Max process pressure - Vessel: 0 - 3 barg, System: 5 barg (limited by filter) | ||
| If not single use, metallic wetted parts shall be SS 316L (or equivalent), polished to 0.8-micron Ra or better. | ||
| The material of construction of the Feed Vessel shall be compatible with requirements for sanitary processing and cleaning, ideally stainless steel. | ||
| The filter module shall be configurable to contain one membrane cassette or several membrane cassettes in parallel to give a range of membrane areas. The expected range is of the order of 1m2 – 5m2. The filters must be cassette filters or hollow fibre filters or both if possible. | ||
| If not single use, level sensor or load cells in the feed vessel shall be indicated. | ||
| Pressure transmitters shall indicate the retentate pressure upstream and downstream of the filter module and indicate the permeate pressure. | ||
| A flow transmitter shall indicate the retentate flow, feed flow and permeate flow. | ||
| The recirculation pump shall have local speed control and indication. | ||
| An automated diaphragm valve shall be provided for adjustment of retentate backpressure. | ||
| An automated diaphragm valve shall be provided for adjustment of permeate backpressure. | ||
| Process data collected by transmitters shall be available for export to a PC or laptop (by others) for recording. | ||
| Automated control of crossflow rate and/or transmembrane pressure is required. | ||
| Permeate flowrate measurement is required on the unit. | ||
| UV, pH and Conductivity readings required on permeate line. | ||
