About this file

This document is Addendum #7 for the Walker County Jail Water Conditioning Upgrade project (Solicitation C2360-25-018A), issued by the Walker County Purchasing Office on 4/23/2025. The addendum addresses vendor questions regarding technical drawing details, clarifies that certain previous construction drawings are for reference only, and explains a $25,000 contingency allowance. Specifically, the addendum provides technical clarifications about mixing valves (TMV-2 being removed from service), drawing references, and confirms that the $25,000 contingency can be applied to any project package for additional plumbing modifications as deemed necessary.

The addendum instructs bidders to include the $25,000 contingency allowance as a standalone amount in addition to the other proposal package costs. The document does not introduce new pricing structures or fundamentally alter the project's scope but provides critical technical clarifications that potential contractors must understand to accurately prepare their bids. The contingency allowance provides flexibility for potential unforeseen modifications during the water conditioning system upgrade at the Walker County Jail, suggesting the county anticipates potential minor scope adjustments during the project's implementation.

The $25K (for additional plumbing modifications “as necessary”) is a standalone allowance, which could be applied to any package(s) should additional changes to complete the work are deemed necessary.

INCLUDE THIS $25K “CONTINGENCY ALLOWANCE” IN YOUR BID AS A STANDALONE AMOUNT

(I.E., IN ADDITION TO THE OTHER PROPOSAL “PACKAGE” COSTS).
