About this file

This document is Addendum #1 for the Walker County Jail Water Conditioning System Upgrade solicitation (C2360-25-018), issued by the Walker County Purchasing Office in Texas. The addendum, dated 4/9/2025, addresses vendor questions regarding the project, which involves the installation of two NaturalSof water softener units: a 3" Pro Model NS96 and a 1" Pro Model NS96. The solicitation closes on April 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM Central Time, with an estimated construction budget of $75,000 or less. The project requires licensed plumbing and electrical work to tie in the water conditioning system equipment.

The addendum provides specific details about the required water softener units and includes contact information for the NaturalSof area sales representative, Billy Barrick. Walker County does not maintain a plan holder's list and has not released any previous addenda prior to this document. The procurement appears to be an open competition for qualified vendors capable of meeting the technical specifications for the water conditioning system upgrade at the Walker County Jail. Potential bidders are advised that they may need to coordinate with NaturalSof's sales team to ensure proper product selection and compatibility with the existing infrastructure.

Addendum #1- 4/9/2025

C2360-25-018 - Walker County Jail Water Conditioning System Upgrade

Solicitation Closing Date & Time: April 16, 2025 at 11:00AM (C.T.)

1. Question: I have taken a good look through the specs required by engineering. There is work that needs to be done by a plumber and electrician. We do not have licenses for that type of work. Typically, we only tie in our equipment to an existing 3 valve bypass installed by a licensed plumber. Also, the bid asks for NaturalSof Water System. Is there one in particular that you were looking at? I have not dealt with this company so I would need to work with their sales team to get the right product for your application. I do not mind doing that but I wasn't sure if you already had a system in mind, so I don't waste time with the wrong unit.

Answer:

The wording in the Project Notes "Package B 1) a)", namely "Naturalsof Pro Model NS96 (3" PS)," is the complete call-out for the softeners shown in Detail 3/Dwg PE8.11 (i.e., all that is needed to order the units).

There is a 2nd smaller unit required per Project Notes "Package B 1) b)", namely "Naturalsof Pro Model NS96 (1" PS)", which again is the complete call-out.

Finally, our area sales rep, Billy Barrick his contact information is number: Phone Number 281.644.9454, Email:

2. Question: Can I get a copy of any addenda that have been released to date?

Answer: As of 4/2/25 there has not been an addenda released. This is the only addendum that has been released.

3. Question: What is the estimated construction budget?

Answer: The estimated construction budget is $75,000 or less.

4. Question: Can I get a copy of the plan holder’s list if available?

Answer: Walker County does not have a plan holder’s list as we do not track vendors who have accessed the solicitation's documents and specifications.
