About this file
This is a Scope of Work document from the Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS) for the construction of a 40-foot monopole telecommunications tower at 11612 Scott Simpson Dr. in El Paso, Texas. The project requires construction of a steel tube tower meeting TIA 222-H design standards, with a 93% tower rating and cable port entry/exit at 12 feet height. All feedlines must be inside the pole, and the structure must use hot-dipped galvanized steel construction with specific material requirements including 42 KSI minimum yield HSS round tube. TXDPS will provide the Dragonwave antenna and radio equipment, including a 2-foot 11 GHz antenna and Harmony Enhanced radio. The contractor must coordinate with TXDPS technicians with 7 days notice before beginning work, and TXDPS will coordinate blocking off the office parking lot during construction.
The document includes aerial and ground-level photos showing the installation site at the Scott Simpson Office, including views of the brick building exterior and proposed monopole location. The site photos show a paved area with surrounding landscaping where the monopole will be installed. Contractors must maintain daily cleanup of the work area and properly dispose of all project debris upon completion. The document does not specify pricing terms or set-asides, but includes detailed technical specifications for materials and construction standards, including options for backfill material using either 3000 PSI concrete or crushed aggregate compacted to 95% standard proctor density.
