About this file

This is a scope of work document from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) for the construction of a 40-foot monopole telecommunications tower at 11612 Scott Simpson Dr. in El Paso, TX. The project requires construction of a steel tube tower meeting TIA 222-H design standards, with cable port entry/exit at approximately 12 feet height, engineered to a 93% tower rating. The tower must be constructed using hot-dipped galvanized steel meeting specific material requirements including 42 KSI minimum yield HSS round tube, 35 KSI minimum yield pipe, and 50 KSI minimum yield plate. TXDPS will provide the Dragonwave antenna and radio equipment for installation, including a 2-foot 11 GHz antenna and Harmony Enhanced radio. The DPS will coordinate parking lot blocking during construction, and requires 7 days advance notice before work begins to ensure a technician is available on-site.

The document includes aerial and ground-level photos showing the installation location at the Scott Simpson Office, including views of a brick building with an existing tower visible in the background. The installation site is marked in the aerial view and shown in detail through multiple ground-level photographs of a brick-walled area with concrete walkways. The contractor must maintain daily cleanup of the work area and properly dispose of all project debris upon completion. Backfill material options include either 3000 PSI concrete or crushed aggregate compacted to 95% standard proctor density, designed for clay soil conditions.
