About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 to CSRFP 2024-25-003 for E-Rate Category 2 Equipment, Services, and Cabling issued by Galveston Independent School District (GISD). The addendum provides clarification on technical specifications through a Q&A format addressing network equipment requirements and infrastructure standards.
The addendum specifies that redundant power and stackability are required for all switches, including access layer/IDF switches. The fiber interconnect speed requirement is set at 10GB, and the current fiber optic network uses Single Mode standard. Regarding cabling standards, GISD currently uses Cat 6 throughout most facilities, while the new Ball High School employs a Corning fiber to the edge solution with Cat 6a cabling to endpoints. Questions regarding the procurement can be directed to Ana Escobar, the Purchasing Coordinator, at anaescobar@gisd.org.
