About this file
This document is an Addendum to the Solicitation Documents for an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) General Construction Services contract for the University of Texas at Austin's McDonald Observatory (MCD) project, identified as RFP 24JOC3700 and Project # CP577221. The Addendum provides clarifications and responses to questions related to the number of key personnel required, the need for a cover letter, and the number of subcontractors that can be listed. There are no changes to the general specifications or requirements.
The IDIQ contract is for a master agreement to provide Job Order Contract (JOC) services for general construction projects of all types at all locations and buildings at the MCD. The contract will cover a variety of general construction services, including renovation, concrete work, site work, mechanical and electrical system upgrades, fire protection, life safety, and utility infrastructure systems. The University is seeking qualified JOC providers, with an emphasis on qualifications rather than a specific number of personnel.

necessary to accomplish the work while fulfilling general safety and quality control requirements listed in the RFP. Work levels will fluctuate and the awarded Proposer must be responsive to changes, making adjustments to staffing levels as needed. The University’s priority is to have a qualified JOC provider, meaning qualifications rather than quantity of personnel are key.
Question 2: Is a cover letter required as a part of submission no. 2?
Response 2: A cover letter is not a mandatory requirement but proposers may include one if desired to summarize their response in submission no. 2.
Question 3: (Reference Section 8.2.1.3) Is there a minimum or maximum number of subcontractors that may be listed in response to this section requesting a list of typically used major subcontractors?
Response 3: There is no minimum or maximum – the University would like to evaluate the subcontractors that will typically be used on projects at McDonald Observatory.
