About this file

This document is a Bidder Environmentally Preferable Products / Practices Form for a state and local contract opportunity in Massachusetts. The contract opportunity is for vendors to supply and deliver fresh produce (vegetables, fruits, herbs, etc.) to one or more designated Department of Youth Services (DYS) locations within the Commonwealth. Bidders are asked to identify sustainable practices they have adopted, such as having a sustainability policy, using green cleaning products, purchasing Energy Star certified equipment, incorporating green building design elements, and implementing various shipping and transportation initiatives. Bidders are also asked to provide information on any relevant certifications they have obtained, such as being a reporting member of the WasteWise Program or having an environmental management system.

The form includes sections for bidders to detail their packaging initiatives, shipping and transportation practices, staff training and customer education efforts, and any other environmental criteria not covered in the previous sections. This information will be considered as part of the "best value" evaluation of the bids, and bidders who have adopted sustainable practices may receive additional points.
