About this file

This document is a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) file for Bid #25-JG-045, issued by Pinellas County Schools for Recycling & Disposal Services of End-of-Life Electronic Equipment. The bid seeks a contractor to pick up, process, recycle, and dispose of district-owned electronic waste, with a single pickup location in Largo at the warehouse. The electronics include a diverse range of equipment such as Apple and Dell laptops, desktops, iPads, All-In-One computers, and various printer models from manufacturers like Lexmark, HP, and Brother. The district indicates the electronic assets range from 3 to 40 years old, and while no precise quantity list is available, the bid allows for flexible "1 or more" estimated annual quantities.

The recycling service requires the contractor to provide comprehensive data destruction documentation, including certificates of data destruction and recycling. The district will prepare pallets and provide labor for loading, and accepts various truck sizes including full-size trailers and trucks capable of handling up to 10 pallets. The bid specifies that most systems will be intact, with primarily flat-panel monitors expected. The district donates a very small percentage of technology items to community educational programs and currently recycles all end-of-life electronic equipment. The successful contractor will need to handle mixed conditions of equipment, potentially with missing components, and provide a detailed audit trail of the recycling process.
