About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by Brookhaven National Laboratory for specialty equipment to be used in the Clinical Alpha Radionuclide Producer (CARP) project. The RFI seeks detailed information from vendors on various equipment items, including shielded windows, hot cell structures, gloveboxes, manipulators, generators, transformers, HEPA filters, fans, clamshells, transportation casks, and radiation monitoring equipment. Some items require NQA-1 quality assurance accreditation, while others do not.
The RFI requests vendors provide three key deliverables for as many line items as possible: 1) an 80% confidence rough order magnitude (ROM) cost estimate, 2) approximate lead time including design, fabrication, delivery, and installation, and 3) a detailed payment schedule with terms. The questions deadline is 4 PM on April 21, 2025, and the RFI response deadline is 4 PM on April 29, 2025, with responses to be sent to Joe Famiglietti at jfamiglie@bnl.gov. This RFI is for information and planning purposes under the Department of Energy Office of Science, and does not constitute a commitment by the U.S. Government.

Request for Information (JF472025)
April 7, 2025
Scope:
This scope of this analysis includes estimating the approximate lead time, price, and payment schedule for specialty equipment that will be used within the Clinical Alpha
Radionuclide Producer (CARP) at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The lead time for the equipment will include the time required for any design, fabrication, delivery, and if required installation.
The CARP project team requires current information on specialty items to appropriately develop the project budget and schedule. The list of equipment includes a mixture of commercial-off-the shelf items and specially designed equipment. The items that will have an impact on the safety basis of the facility will require the vendor to have a credited NQA-1 compliant quality assurance program.
