List of Directives and Documents
Attachment H
The contractor shall ensure the following applicable documents and directives are abiding or complied with:
• Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 49-Transportation Chapter II U.S.
• Department of Transportation, Parts 200-240, Federal Railroad Administration mandates safety standards for railroad equipment and track,
• CFR Title 40, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), refers in part, to diesel exhaust emissions and discharge of waste,
• CFR Title 29, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, refers in part, to individual personal protective equipment and processes,
• General Code of Operating Rules, Northeast Operating Rules Advisory Committee, or similar railroad operational rules and procedures when the geometry cars are operating on member railroad's property,
• ATIP Safety Manual,
• Chapter 3 of the Track Compliance Manual,
• Association of American Railroads (AAR) Manual of Recommended Standards and Practices, and the Field Manual of Interchange Rules, refers to the established standards for the structural construction of railroad cars and the components of railroad cars used in interchange service in the general railroad transportation system,
• American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM) specifies the quality of material used,
• National Electric Code (NEC) specifies standards used in electrical construction,
• International Standards Organization (ISO) Manual of Standards,
• American Welding Society (AWS) Manual describes the qualities of proper welding, and
• American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association (AREMA) describe recommended railroad engineering practices.
