NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE OFFERORS

RE: MT PARK 2013 (1)

Gardiner Gateway, Phase 1 Solicitation No. DTFH70-14-R-00010

The attached preliminary plans are being furnished to aid prospective Offerors in identifying the location and type of work for this project. The project will be advertised during a period when viewing of the project may not be possible due to snow. Therefore, prospective Offerors are encouraged to view the project during fall as conditions permit. No Federal Highway Administration personnel will be available for show-me tours.

Who can bid as a Prime – This project will be solicited to the Yellowstone, Grand Teton & Surrounding Area MATOC contractors. If your firm is not a listed MATOC contractor, you cannot submit a bid as a prime contractor. We encourage non-MATOC firms to consider one of the many subcontracting opportunities. Information on the MATOC contractors may be found on our web site at: http://www.wfl.fhwa.dot.gov/contracting/construction/idiq/ygt.htm

Current Road Conditions - Although Gardiner, Montana is accessible year-round, viewing of the site after November will be weather dependent. Contact Yellowstone National Park’s 24-hour road information office for current road conditions (http://www.nps.gov/yell/conditions.htm or 307.344.2117).

Two Bid Schedules - The work will be solicited under two alternate schedules, with different amounts of work in each schedule. One schedule will be awarded. See the Description of Work document for additional details.

• Schedule A consists of subexcavation, grading, drainage, MSE wall, base, paving, pavement milling, curbs and sidewalks, stone masonry & other smaller items of work

• Schedule B generally consists of all Schedule A work, plus additional pedestrian amenities such as stone curbing, stone edging masonry seat walls, trash receptacles and specialized lighting.

Project Location and Type of Work - All project work is located in Gardiner, Montana. The project straddles the Yellowstone National Park/ Park County, Montana jurisdictional boundary.

Technical Questions – All technical questions must be submitted by email plans_spec@dot.gov (plans_spec@dot.gov) or FAX 360.619.7932
