Special Contract Requirements ID PFH 88-1(1) Yankee Fork Road

(7) Do not refuel equipment or vehicles within 100 feet of rivers, streams or identified wetlands.

If on-site fuel tanks are used, approved containment devices will be required.

(8) Place appropriate spill containment and/or absorbent pads around all pumps and generators in use.

(9) Perform all instream work after August 1.

(10) Dewater culvert sites at locations with flowing water by either pump or diversion method. If pump method is used, install a temporary cofferdam with a portable pump placed in front of the dam and pump water downstream of the culvert. If diversion is used install a temporary bypass pipe that will divert water around the dewatered work site.

(11) Do not construct cofferdams with material mined from the stream or floodplain.

(12) Place double rows of straw wattles in areas where construction is within 10 feet of the stream.

(13) Place a tarp to capture paint and debris underneath all areas where the bridge paintwork and cleaning will occur.

(14) Do not use or perform machinery work within the Yankee Fork River.

(15) No blasting allowed. Break down instream rocks or bedrock using non-explosive alternatives. Remove rock debris as directed by CO.

(16) During instances of precipitation and high flow conditions, cease all project operations that result in uncontrollable erosion in the construction area, except efforts to minimize storm or high flow erosion.

(17) Conserve and stockpile native streambed materials above the bank full elevation for later use in channel rehabilitation. Keep these materials separate from other stockpiled materials that are not native to the streambed to prevent contamination from fine soils.

(18) Remove all construction waste materials from riparian areas.

(19) Operate equipment from the top bank unless specifically authorized to work in the channel and an ingress and egress route is pre-approved. Do not drive equipment in flowing water.

(20) Do not stockpile excavated material in the waterway or adjacent to wetlands.

(21) Re-vegetate all areas disturbed by project construction with native species immediately upon completion of the project. Re-vegetation shall include planting native woody species adjacent to the stream.

(22) No ditch reconditioning between stations 26+00 LT and 31+00 LT.

(23) No staging of equipment between stations 26+00 LT and 31+00 LT.

(24) The access road culvert at 28+92 shall be replaced using only previously disturbed areas to perform the work. The work shall not extend beyond the base of the slope at the existing ditch.

Construction fencing shall be used from 27+92 to 29+92 to mark no-work zones as determined by the CO. Low-impact methods of removing debris and conducting the work shall be used.

(25) Prevent damage to 40” tree and its root system on outlet side during removal of pipe at 119+89 and installation of pipe at 119+91.
