QUESTION #3

On sheet B9 Rockery summary note states; “for estimating purposes, it is assumed the majority of the rockeries will be generated from the onsite material.” Is this true? Typically you would see a deduction made on sheet B8 Grading summary to the waste item. Furthermore the final Geotech report does not state or elude to that size and type of rock anywhere on the project. Please advise weather or not the note on B9 is correct and if so what deduction to make to sheet B8 waste item.

Response: Rockery is a unit price item of work. The Contractor may use materials within the Project Right-of-Way that meets the material Specifications or the Contractor may provide the material that meets the material Specifications from offsite sources. There are amounts of rock materials within the Project Right-of-Way that may meet the material Specifications; however, no evaluation of these materials was performed as part of the preliminary design or geotechnical investigations. Potential Bidders can visually observe these materials at the Project site.
