About this file
This Addendum 1 clarifies specifications for Request for Bids 26-23 issued by The University of Southern Mississippi Procurement and Contract Services for the procurement of hexafluoroglutaryl fluoride (HFGF). The University seeks to purchase 300 kilograms of 98% purity HFGF to be delivered in three shipments of 100 kilograms each over a one-year period. The material will be used for industrial chemical synthesis applications. The chemical has a low boiling point of 46 degrees Celsius, is classified as an inhalation hazard, and is currently received in high-pressure cylinders at 45-kilogram sizes. Sealed bids must be received by 2:00 p.m. Central Time on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Bond Hall, Room 214, 118 College Drive #5003, Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Regarding packaging specifications, the University requires net packaging sizes of 50 kilograms or less and accepts any container type rated to safely handle the material's specific hazard classification, with further details to be discussed with the successful bidder. The purity specification is 98% or higher with no specific impurity requirements identified at this time. Bidders must provide manufacturer specifications and brochures demonstrating that the HFGF meets the stated purity specifications. Pricing shall be firm for the contract term and quoted on an F.O.B. Destination Freight Allowed basis. The University's standard payment terms offer a 2% discount if paid within ten days or net payment within 45 days in accordance with Mississippi law. The award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder meeting all specifications, and the University reserves the right to accept or reject any part of a bid and to make awards on an all-or-none basis or line-by-line basis.

1. Total of 300kg to be delivered in 3, 100kg shipments.
a. Packaging size and material?
i. We currently receive the material in high pressure cylinders @ 45kgs. The material has a low boiling point (46C) and is classified as an inhalation hazard. We are not partial to any type of container as long as it is rated to handle the material safely. We can discuss specific details of the containers later if you have various options. A net packaging size should be 50kgs or less at this point.
2. 98% purity
a. Any impurity requirements or specifics otherwise?
i. 98% or higher is fine as far as impurities go...no known specifics with impurities at this point.
3. Can you share the intended application?
