About this file
This Addendum 1 document responds to bidder questions submitted for Request for Bids 26-23 issued by the University of Southern Mississippi Procurement and Contract Services for the procurement of hexafluoroglutaryl fluoride (HFGF) chemical compound. The University seeks to purchase 300 kilograms of 98% purity HFGF to be delivered in three equal shipments of 100 kilograms each over a one-year period. The material will be used for industrial chemical synthesis applications. The University currently receives the material in high-pressure cylinders at 45-kilogram sizes but is open to alternative containers rated to safely handle the chemical, which has a low boiling point of 46 degrees Celsius and is classified as an inhalation hazard. Bidders are advised that net packaging size should be 50 kilograms or less. Sealed bids were due on Thursday, February 26, 2026, by 2:00 p.m. Central Time at Bond Hall, Room 214, 118 College Drive #5003, Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Regarding specifications, the University will accept purity levels of 98% or higher and has indicated no specific impurity requirements at this time. Pricing shall be firm for the contract term and quoted on an F.O.B. Destination Freight Allowed basis, with payment terms offering a 2% discount if paid within ten days or net payment within 45 days in accordance with Mississippi law. The award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder meeting all specifications, and the University reserves the right to accept or reject any part of a bid and to make awards on an all-or-none basis or line-by-line basis. No specific budget range, set-aside designations, or incumbent vendor information is disclosed in the procurement materials.
