Statement of Work

U.S. Department of Labor

Mine Safety and Health Administration

1100 Wilson Blvd

Arlington, VA 22209

PART 1

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.0 BACKGROUND

The mission of the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) is to administer the provisions of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977, as amended by the Mine Improvement and New Emergency Response Act of 2006.

The MSHA Coal Mine Safety and Health division (Coal) and Metal and Nonmetal division (Metal operate District and Field offices throughout the United States for the United States (US) Department of Labor. Many of the MSHA offices are in need of having furniture replaced. MSHA has acquired furniture from the Department of Justice in Johnstown, PA. This furniture is presently being stored in a storage facility owned and operated by A. Pomerantz and Company located at:

Corporate Facilities Services

313 Church Street

Swedesboro, NJ 08085

There are approximately 300 workstations that will be installed in MSHA offices throughout the country. All of this furniture is manufactured by Steelcase and has been disassembled. Please see Exhibit 2.0 for inventory list. The work stations are Steelcase series 9000 units.

1.1 PURPOSE

The purpose of this procurement is to obtain the services of a designer certified by Steelcase to create installation drawings for sixteen MSHA offices that will receive this furniture. The inventory is limited; therefore the offices are listed in the order we wish to utilize the inventory. Vendor should prepare the installation designs to match as closely as possible to the attached MSHA typicals. Using the attached inventory list and typical setup used by MSHA, the vendor will provide MSHA with a list of inventory items used and a bill of materials that will list any additional parts and pieces required to complete each installation.

1.2 SCOPE OF WORK

The excess furniture that is available and is being stored by Pomerantz is needed in various MSHA locations. It is estimated that there are approximately 300 workstations available for installation. All work stations are disassembled. A complete inventory list is attached.

Vendor will prepare installation drawings in the order listed for the following offices:
