DOL134RQ20132
Questions and Answers Q1. Will field verification (measuring of interior spaces) by the awarded contractor be required for the locations, especially the three locations that there are no existing CAD plans for?
A1. The offices that have CAD drawings will not need field verification. For the offices that do not have CAD drawings, field verification will be required in order for the vendor to create the CAD drawings required by the SOW.
Q2. In regards to the furniture inventory list:
A. Is there a count of left and right handed cantilevers in 25” & 30” depths?
B. Are there counts of corner brackets or any other work-surface support hardware available?
C. Is there an inventory list for national – power duplex outlets and available circuits?
D. Is there any additional inventory counts for Steelcase 9000 furniture that is not listed with the attached inventory list?
E. Is there a count of hinges (needed to create panel connections) available for quantities in 42”, 53” & 65” heights?
A2. The list supplied is the only list we have regarding the inventory.
Q3. Do you have a vendor from which to obtain any needed parts supply and/or do you need to locate one?
A3. The purchase of the parts and pieces will be under a separate contract. Vendors are not needed at this time.
Q4. There are corner work-surfaces shown in the pictures but none on the inventory list; Do you have any way to inquire if there are corner work-surfaces available from this inventory?
A4. There are 256 42 “ X 42” Corner pieces listed on the inventory Q5. We understand that the work-station typical (attached to the solicitation) is to only be used for sizing (footprint) of the work-stations; Are there requirements necessary for the workstations to have (number of work-surfaces, overheads, pedestals) or is this to be left up to the best discretion of the designer?
A5. It should be left to the discretion of the designer.
Q6. Your Coal & Metal typical don’t match what is currently shown on the overall floor plans for the individual locations?
Q6a. San Antonio, TX – same as above, also the overall plan shows (13) stations, but your list shows (14)
A6a. There are 14 locations on the floor plan. Perhaps they did not capture the 1 at the front of the building that is by itself. I have circled them on the floor plan
Q6b. Vincennes, IN – overall plan shows (58) stations, but your list shows (55)
A6b. We should have been clearer on this one. We actually only need 53 stations. I have numbered the areas where we will need work stations. The 5 spaces in the upper right will not get work stations. I have edited the SOW to reflect this change also.
Q6c. Duluth, MH - overall plan appears drawn as offices rather than workstations? Or are these wall mounted worksurfaces? There are (7) offices drawn but the list shows (6)
A6c. The bottom 6 spaces are not offices, it is open space. The space labeled Field Office Supervisor will not get a station.
Q6d. Vacavile, CA - overall plan appears drawn as offices rather than workstations? Or are these wall mounted worksurfaces?
A6d. These are not offices. There are some walls, but the majority is open space.
Q6e. Albany, OR – overall plan shows (11) stations but your list shows (10)
A6e. Our mistake, I have corrected the SOW to reflect 11.
Q6f. Boise, ID – drawing contains offices? Where are the (9) workstations going?
A6f. I have attached a new drawing showing the location of the 8 work stations. There will be 8 workstations.
Q7. 1 – Typicals
Q7a. Are drawn using 48” panels where the binder bins are installed. Your inventory consists of Steelcase 9000 product, which does not have 48” panels or 48” binder bins.
A7a. The design for the typicals was made from a different product. We are aware that the units will not match exactly. We would like the vendor to design something as close as possible with the available product.
Q7b. Corners are shown as curvilinear – your inventory contains straight corners
A7b. We are OK with straight corners. See above response Q7c. Panels are shown as stackable – your inventory contains full height, monolithic panels?
A7c. Please design using the panels that are available in inventory.
Q7d. Overall, the typicals don’t match the product in your inventory which means you won’t deplete much inventory, if any at all?
A7d. See answer A7a.
