About this file

This is a Question and Answer document for Invitation for Bid (IFB) B-50236 regarding dish machine installation at Illinois River Correctional Center. The procurement involves the installation of a commercial dish machine in the facility's Dietary Building, with the vendor responsible for equipment delivery, transportation into the building, and factory technician-led startup. The machine specifications include a round duct (or stainless steel square duct if modifications are required), a capacity to wash up to 4,800 trays daily depending on lockdown status, and airflow of 1,500 CFM at 0.63 water column. Power requirements consist of 460 three-phase volts with three breakers rated at 120, 60, and 25 amps. The vendor must communicate machine dimensions to the facility to ensure adequate access, and a certified plumber is required for water line work. Illinois River Correctional Center staff will handle wall and window removal for installation access, cage installation around the water softener, and detergent removal and installation coordination.

Vendors are responsible for all shipping and transportation of the machine into the Dietary Building, with a maximum available loading and unloading length of 22.5 feet. No liftgate will be required, and the facility will not be responsible for receiving the shipment. The existing fan does not require replacement, and the water softener will be located in the Dish Room with the machine. This procurement is specific to Illinois River Correctional Center, a state correctional facility, and the question and answer document addresses critical installation and operational requirements to ensure vendor compliance with the project specifications.
