About this file

This document is an installation manual for the CP-4 Automatic Gate Opener, a vehicle detection sensor designed for gate access control systems. The manual provides comprehensive technical specifications and installation instructions, including detailed guidance on cable routing, conduit installation, sensitivity adjustment, and positioning. Key technical details include power requirements of 8-24 VAC or 8-30 VDC, a standby current of 30-70 microamps, an operating temperature range of -25°F to +140°F, and a 5-year warranty covering material and workmanship defects.

The manual outlines specific installation considerations such as recommended placement distances from utilities (minimum 6-10 feet from buried power lines, 10 feet from gas lines, 20 feet from transformers), vehicle detection speed requirements (minimum 5 MPH), and burial depth of 3-5 inches below surface. The device features adjustable sensitivity levels (high, medium, low) and compatibility with various gate operators. Contact information for technical support, returns, and company details are provided, with Cartell located in Shippensburg, PA, offering support through multiple phone options and email channels.
