About this file
This is an engineering drawing and specification document for the City of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, detailing the replacement of two boilers in the Westside Community Service Building located at 2598 W Main Street. The project involves the demolition of existing boiler piping, insulation, and specialty devices down to existing shutoff valves and triple duty valves, followed by installation of new boilers on existing pads with complete piping and specialty device connections. The work includes connecting boilers to existing flue intake and exhaust systems, gas piping connections utilizing existing gas pressure regulators, and field coordination to verify and modify existing services as necessary. All work must comply with state and local codes and manufacturer instructions, with systems requiring testing, adjustment, calibration, and balancing in accordance with NEBB standards. The contract scope also includes an alternate bid option for replacement of current VFD pumps in the same location.
The engineering specifications require that all HVAC equipment meet IRI, AGA, and UL requirements, with all low-voltage wiring performed per the National Electric Code. The mechanical contractor bears responsibility for field verification of exact pipe routing, equipment locations, and clearances prior to submittal. Equipment must be provided complete with operation and maintenance manuals and system schematics, and a balance report shall be submitted to the engineer with one copy retained at the jobsite. Gas pipe sizing is based upon Schedule 40 black steel specifications. The project was prepared by RJ D Engineering, Inc. with a project number of 22.0196 and issued on July 1, 2022, during the design development phase.
