About this file

This is a federal contract document (FSC 5305, Attachment 1, Section "B") specifying procurement requirements for a Socket Head Cap Screw.

The solicitation requires Socket Head Cap Screws conforming to FF-S-86, Type VI, with specifications of 0.4375-20UNF-3A X 2.000 inches, nickel plated, and qualified under QQ-N-286G. The fasteners must be annealed and age hardened, with the head drilled for lockwire installation per FF-S-86 Table 1. Critical manufacturing requirements include that NICUAL material that has been headed or roll threaded shall not be age hardened unless solution annealed subsequent to heading and threading operations. Threads formed after final age hardening must be cut or ground only. The document permits use of earlier revisions of FF-S-86 provided appropriate certifications or Certificates of Compliance (COC) documenting NICUAL material heading or roll threading are submitted.

The contract incorporates compliance documentation requirements including CDRL DI-MISC-81356A (Certificate of Compliance) and CDRL DI-MISC-80678 (Certification/Data Report), along with applicable PNS Standard Clauses C500 (Mercury Exclusion), C524 (Marking and Certification Requirements), and C531 (Restrictions on K-Monel Material). Standard commercial packaging applies, and contractor inspection requirements per FAR 52.246-1, inspection and acceptance at destination (E-2), and notice of constructive acceptance period (E504) are applicable. Section H references Standard Clause H500 for Special Provisions for Threaded Products.
