About this file

This document is a comprehensive set of architectural and engineering drawings and specifications for the Chief Logan Lodge HVAC Repairs rebid project, prepared for the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources. The project scope encompasses mechanical HVAC system renovations including the installation of new air handling units (AHU-1 through AHU-7), makeup air units (MAU-1 and MAU-2), fan coil units (FCU-1 and FCU-2), variable air volume (VAV) boxes, exhaust fans, multiple boilers, a 180-ton chiller system, and associated ductwork, piping, and controls throughout the lodge facility spanning multiple floors and roof areas. The project includes structural modifications for an RTU platform level, electrical service upgrades with new panels and generator installation, plumbing modifications for drainage systems, and architectural elements including roofing, wall sections, and interior finishes. The drawings reference MEI Project #23015 and are dated December 17-19, 2025, with design compliance to the International Building Code (2018) and multiple engineering standards including AISC, SMACNA, ASHRAE, and NFPA requirements.

The project requires coordination among multiple trades including structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and architectural contractors. Key mechanical equipment includes four condensing boilers (2,000,000 Btu/h each), an air-cooled chiller with VFD compressor, variable-speed pumps with integrated controllers, and comprehensive piping systems utilizing 30% propylene glycol solution for heating and cooling loops. Electrical scope involves installation of new distribution panels (DPHN1, DPHN2, DPLN1), a 450-kilowatt standby generator with automatic transfer switch, variable frequency drives, and updated service infrastructure with 480/277-volt three-phase power. The contract documents establish the contractor's responsibility for all means, methods, sequences, construction safety, and OSHA compliance, with specific requirements for shop drawing submittals, field verification of existing conditions, and coordination with other trades to avoid conflicts and ensure proper installation of all MEP systems.
