About this file
The document is a comprehensive Facilities Design and Specification Manual for Cherokee County Property Management, covering multiple technical specification sections for building construction and infrastructure systems. The manual provides detailed technical guidelines for various building components including door hardware, hollow metal and wood doors, fire alarm systems, fire suppression, HVAC specifications, and access control systems. The specification manual establishes precise requirements for manufacturers, materials, installation methods, product performance, testing, and quality assurance across multiple building system disciplines.
The manual represents a standardized approach to facility construction and renovation for Cherokee County, specifying preferred manufacturers, technical performance standards, and installation protocols for critical building systems. Key manufacturers include Carrier, Trane, Schlage, Von Duprin, and Honeywell, with specific requirements for product lines and technical capabilities. The document emphasizes compatibility with existing county infrastructure, particularly in areas like HVAC controls (Carrier i-Vu Open system) and access control (Honeywell Commercial Security systems), indicating a strategic approach to maintaining consistency across county facilities. The specifications also include detailed requirements for environmental considerations, energy efficiency, maintenance, and long-term performance of building systems.

Cherokee County Property Management Door Hardware Specification
80 - 7100
Cherokee County Hardware Guide Spec Process
THE PROCESS
1. Latest revision of the Cherokee County Property Mgmt. Door and Hardware Guide Spec is provided to the Architect firm by Cherokee County Project Manager.
2. Architect is to complete the door and hardware schedule using the CCPM Door and Hardware Guide
Specification as a guideline and submit it to CCPM for approval.
Contact person to assist with the schedule is:
ALLEGION
Krystina B. Regan Allegion Specification Consultant 678-906-2106 Mobile- 678-353-4854 Krystina.Regan@Allegion.com
3. When the Architect completes the door and hardware schedule it is then sent to CCPM for approval. Once approved, the architect includes the door and hardware schedule in the bid set documents.
(Note: This is prior to the RFP process so that all door and hardware information needed for the GC to properly estimate the project will be in the original bid set documents.)
4. General Contractor will submit his proposed door/hardware information that meet the door/hardware specification to the architect and owner for review and acceptance.
5. Once approved, CCPM will order the permanent cores to match the door/hardware schedule and forward the invoice for the cores to the CC Project Manager to be paid out of the project budget. This process should ensure the permanent cores are available at final punch.
It is necessary for this process to take place to avoid the confusion about the hardware that is used and potential change orders being needed.
