About this file
This document is an exhibit from the NRCS Easement Programs AWMA (Agricultural Water Management Assistance) Specifications for January 2026, showing market area designations for Tennessee counties.
The exhibit presents a map of Tennessee divided into three regional classifications for easement program purposes. Market Area 1 (orange) encompasses the western counties including Shelby, Tipton, Fayette, Lauderdale, Haywood, Madison, Chester, Decatur, and other western counties, with agricultural land easement acreage ranging from 10-800 acres and other land easement acreage ranging from 1-300 acres. Market Area 2 (green) covers central Tennessee counties such as Stewart, Montgomery, Houston, Benton, Humphreys, Hickman, Perry, Lewis, Lawrence, Giles, and Wayne, with unspecified acreage ranges. The Remainder region (purple) comprises all other Tennessee counties east of Market Areas 1 and 2, including counties such as Sullivan, Hancock, Hawkins, Washington, Carter, Cocke, and Knox, among others. For easement acreages below or above the AWMA limits established for Market Areas 1 and 2, an independent appraisal is required in all regions.
