About this file

This document is an Iran Disclosure Affidavit for the Southgate Community Schools' Request for Proposal (RFP) for Paving Contractor Services, pursuant to Michigan Public Act No. 517 of 2012. The RFP seeks civil and paving services for multiple elementary schools, including Allen Elementary School and Gerisch School, with work to be completed during summer months between July and August 2025. The project timeline indicates board approval is scheduled for July 15th, 2025, with a requirement for project completion and occupancy by August 28, 2025. Contractors will be expected to work standard shifts from 7am-5pm Monday through Friday when school is out of session.

The affidavit specifically requires contractors to certify they are not an "Iran linked business" and will not become one during the contract period. Significant penalties exist for false certification, including a potential civil penalty of up to $250,000 or twice the contract amount, investigation costs, and attorney fees. Additionally, submitting a false certification can result in being barred from bidding on proposals for three years. The contract will be awarded on a school-by-school basis, with projects involving parking lots, civil work, and pre-construction requirements such as staking and survey elevation confirmation throughout the Southgate Community Schools district.
