About this file

This is a prevailing wage determination document issued by the California Director of Industrial Relations pursuant to California Labor Code, establishing wage requirements for commercial building, highway, heavy construction, and dredging projects across various California localities. The document contains multiple determinations for apprenticeable and journeyperson classifications across numerous trades, including boilermaker-blacksmith, driver classifications, electrical utility lineman, iron worker, metal roofing systems installer, stator rewinder, telecommunications technician, tree trimmer, asbestos worker, and building/construction inspector positions. Each determination specifies effective dates, expiration dates, and geographic locality coverage areas ranging from all California counties to specific regional areas. The determinations are issued by the state's Director of Industrial Relations and apply to public works projects with specified bid advertisement dates, with many determinations containing predetermined wage increase schedules extending through 2028.

The wage determinations establish comprehensive hourly rate structures that include basic hourly rates, health and welfare contributions, pension payments, vacation and holiday allowances, training funds, and other employer payments. Total hourly rates vary significantly by craft, classification, experience level, and geographic area, with journeyperson rates ranging from approximately $19.47 to over $190.73 per hour depending on the specific classification. Overtime rates are clearly defined, with most trades distinguishing between daily overtime (1.5x multiplier for initial hours), Saturday overtime, and Sunday/holiday overtime (typically 2x multiplier). Many determinations include predetermined increases effective on future dates, allocating increases across wage components. Health and welfare contributions frequently include reimbursement accounts and occupational health provisions, while pension contributions often include national employee benefit board allocations. All determinations reference travel and subsistence payment requirements per California Labor Code Sections 1773.1 and 1773.9, and apprentice wage rates are available through the Prevailing Wage Apprentice Determinations Website.
