ADDENDUM #3

BL101-22, Provision of Pre-Approved Non-Emergency Medical Transportation of Seniors and Disabled Adults on an Annual Contract

REVISIONS:

R1. Please replace Addendum #2 Q1/A1 with the following.

Q1. Are passengers with physical limitations listed in the manifest provided to the service provider(s)?

A1. Yes, the manifest will clearly state if the client has limitation requirements such as a cane, blind, deaf, oxygen, etc.

QUESTIONS:

Q1. Traditionally, the industry standard for minimum mileage is usually 10 miles per leg. Is this something that will be in place for the new contact?

A1. The county approves a minimum mileage fee of 5 miles. If the client travels less than 5 miles for a scheduled trip, the provider can charge the pre-approved minimum mileage fee.

Q2. Section III, D, 4 states; Client shall be expected to respond and board the vehicle within 10 minutes of arrival.

Section III, D, 5 states; Driver shall wait no more than 10 minutes for the ambulatory clients and must report non-response to Gwinnett County staff prior to departure. This will not apply to door-through-door clients who the driver is expected to assist through the door. Will the County reduce the required wait time to five minutes?

A2. Yes, please revise these specifications to read;

Section III, D, 4. Client shall be expected to respond and board the vehicle within five (5) minutes of arrival.

Section III, D, 5. Driver shall wait no more than five (5) minutes for the ambulatory clients and must report non-response to Gwinnett County staff prior to departure. This will not apply to door-through-door clients who the driver is expected to assist through the door. Will the County reduce the required wait time to five minutes?

Q3. Bariatric transportation is the transport of clients who generally weigh over 300 pounds. There is normally an additional cost associated with Bariatric transportation on top of the mileage fee kind of similar to an extra passenger or out-of-county fee. Can this be addressed in the Bid?

A3. Weight information is not collected during client assessments. However, the County will work with the awarded service provider(s) and client on a case-by-case basis should the need arise for bariatric transportation.

Please acknowledge receipt of this addendum on page 8R of the bid documents.

Thank you, Jake Scarpone Purchasing Associate II
