About this file

This is an addendum to solicitation BL080-25, a multi-year contract for preventive maintenance and repair of emergency generators issued by an unnamed state or local government agency. The addendum clarifies specifications under Part III, Requirements B, Item e, which addresses the cooling system maintenance procedures for generator units. The document provides technical guidance on antifreeze levels, supplemental coolant additives, and testing requirements that contractors must follow during the preventive maintenance process.

The addendum establishes that pricing for cooling system maintenance should include up to 2 gallons of 50/50 ethylene glycol coolant with supplemental coolant additives as needed. The document specifies that manufacturer coolant is required only for units under warranty, while generic coolant meeting 50/50 ethylene glycol specifications with supplemental coolant additives is acceptable for non-warranty units. The approved coolant specification is Fleetguard ES (extended service) Compleat or an approved equivalent; recycled coolant is explicitly prohibited. Contractors are required to acknowledge this addendum on Page 26R of the Revised Bid Schedule. The addendum was issued on June 17, 2025, and was prepared by Alexis Mckennery, Purchasing Associate II.
