About this file

This document is a Bidders' Conference Presentation for IFB 36F-22: PCC Lead Removal, a procurement managed by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA). The opportunity involves the removal of lead paint and asbestos from six (6) Presidential Conference Committee (PCC) streetcars. The streetcars will be delivered to the contractor's location approximately every three months. The project has a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal of 6%. Key dates include the bid due date of April 4, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. and the estimated contract start date of May 1-15, 2022.

The MBTA will award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, but reserves the right to consider the cost of transporting the PCC cars to and from the contractor's location when determining the low cost bid. Bidders must submit a Bid Cover Letter, Form A (company information), Form B (pricing), Form D (DBE letters of intent), Form E (DBE participation schedule), and a signed contract. This procurement is funded by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the winning contractor will be required to report on the funds paid to any DBE subcontractors.
