About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) related to a Request for Responses (RFR) issued by the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department (SCSD) for Fentanyl Gloves, Bid No. BD-24-1098-HOC-SDS02-91193. The RFR allows vendors to bid on any brand of fentanyl-rated gloves that meet the specified requirements, which include a 6-mil thickness, any color (with black, blue, or white preferred), and the ability to protect against fentanyl exposure. Samples and safety data sheets are required for alternative products. The estimated annual usage is around 200 cases of gloves per quarter, with orders placed on an as-needed basis. The contract will be awarded based on best value, considering factors such as required outcomes, economic value, timely performance, and minimizing administrative burden.

Regarding pricing, the SCSD is unable to provide details on the current or previous pricing for the fentanyl gloves. The contract will be awarded based on best value, not strictly on price. There is no preference for gloves manufactured in the U.S., and the SCSD does not have an anticipated date for the first order under this contract.
