About this file

This document is a Response to Clarifying Questions for Invitation to Bid #2025-35 for the Marquam Sand Shed project issued by Clackamas County, Oregon. The document contains two specific questions and answers related to the project, addressing technical details about the site's retaining wall height and the building pad's surface composition. The first question inquires about the estimated height of the retaining wall, which is confirmed to be detailed on page 2 of the project drawings prepared by HHPR. The second question seeks clarification about the finished floor (FF) elevation of 275.5, with the response confirming that the building pad will have a flat grade using the existing soil composition without additional rock, asphalt, or concrete surfacing.

The clarifying questions document represents a standard pre-bid communication mechanism, allowing potential bidders to seek additional information and gain clarity on specific technical aspects of the project. By providing these responses, Clackamas County ensures transparency in the bidding process and helps potential contractors understand the precise technical specifications of the Marquam Sand Shed project. The document emphasizes that these answers are for clarification purposes only and do not alter or amend the original bid documents, maintaining the integrity of the original solicitation.

INVITATION TO BID #2025-35

Marquam Sand Shed (“BID”)

RESPONSE TO CLARIFYING QUESTIONS

April 10, 2025

Note that these are questions submitted by interested firms to the above referenced solicitation.

The below answers are for clarification purposes only and in no way alter or amend the BID as published.

1. Is there any estimated height for the retaining wall?

Answer: Yes, this is shown on page 2 of the drawings - HHPR’s “Sand Shed Grading Plan with Retain Walls” has these specific details.

2. On the FF elevation on sheet No 1/1 Grading plan it shows the FF elevation of 275.5.

What I am not seeing is a section for Rock or Asphalt/Concrete for the building pad? Or does is not get any kind of surface and the FF is just the dirt subgrade?

Answer: Correct, flat grade of existing soil composition.
