The addendum transmits revisions to the contract documents dated August 6, 2026, including a question and response regarding Item 961.303 Clean (Full Removal) and Paint Steel Beam Ends for Bridge No. S-22-001, clarifying that temporary protective shielding and containment are incidental to the cleaning and painting item rather than requiring a separate line item. The contract is valued at $2.166 million and is subject to prevailing wage rates as determined by the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Workforce Development. A Proposal Guaranty equal to 5% of the bid value is required. The contract contains price adjustments for hot mix asphalt, Portland cement mixtures, diesel fuel, gasoline, and structural and reinforcing steel based on established base prices and indices, with adjustments posted on MassDOT's Highway Division website. All costs associated with design, installation, and removal of containment systems, work platforms, working barges, hazardous waste removal, and pigeon waste disposal are included as incidental costs within the square foot or linear foot pricing of respective line items. Prospective bidders must hold pre-qualification in the BRIDGE - CONSTRUCTION category from MassDOT prior to proposal submission, which requires completing a Request Proposal Form (R109) submitted to prequal.r109@dot.state.ma.us for approval.
