TO ALL PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS: This Addendum is issued to clarify, add to, delete from, correct and/or change the Invitation to Bid (ITB) documents to the extent indicated and is hereby made a part of the said (ITB) documents of which the contract will be based. By submitting a bid for this solicitation you acknowledge receipt of this addendum. All questions must be in writing and addressed to Lakecia Dingle at Lakecia.Dingle@maryland.gov & Samantha Delp at Samantha.Delp@maryland.gov .
This Addendum includes the following:
Clarifications to the Specifications and Questions received.
1. Question: Provide the type of bulb that is in the wall sconces.
Answer: Please refer to Section B.2.d for the information on the proposed fixture.
2. Question: Please advise on the existing light bulbs in the wall sconces for potential rebates.
Answer: At present the State is not considering potential rebates for any work associated with this project
3. Question: Please clarify the scope of work at the pole light closest to the front door, is the light working, has power been checked, is the ground feed work located at the pole base, or is there a short in the line that needs to be located.
Answer: Section E. Method of Work. 2. states Excavate, by hand, as directed by Facility Manager around the light pole by the front entrance to the Court Building. Locate the existing underground feed for the light poles. Pull back wiring, install new splice box, provide, splice to existing wiring and install new wiring from splice box to light fixture. Back fill excavation.
The light works, power is present at the base, however the Facility Manager advises that there has been a “repair” close to the base of the pole, made prior to them being employed at this location. It is the intention to investigate and correct the repair in the manner as described above.
4. Question: When adding 24 new pole light fixtures “provide new wiring etc. and connect to existing electrical feed, does this mean the old wiring from inside each pole light needs to be removed and new wiring installed.
Answer: No, the only wiring needed would be that required to connect the additional fixtures to the supply at the base of the pole.
5. Question: The answer to question #1 in Addendum 3 states that the pole light fixture count is “24 four.” It also acknowledges that the two poles in the rear entrance were omitted in error and need two single Type A Fixtures (one for each pole.” Since the original pole light fixture requirement was 24 and two Type A Fixtures have now been added, is the Department requesting a cost for the installation of 26 pole light fixtures?
Answer: No, only 24 fixtures. See question 6 for a breakdown of fixtures.
6. Question: Given the confusion about pole light counts and how the Department is requesting more fixtures to be installed where currently there are only one or two, could the Department provide a drawing or breakdown identifying where and how many of each fixture type is to be installed? For example: Rear Entrance Sidewalk Pole A: one (1) Type A Fixture; Rear Entrance Sidewalk Pole B: one (1) Type A Fixture
